First fathers have feelings and concerns to deal with when the news comes to them that their mate is expecting. Many first fathers feel shocked, a bit overwhelmed and perhaps a bit scared at the thought of having a new baby. There are lots of responsibilities towards taking care of a child and the father often wonders if he will be capable of providing everything that is needed. Fathers, do not fear there are classes that will teach some of the basic things that you need to know and other things will just fall into place.
What about dad's independence?
Now the new expectant father suddenly feels that he has lost his independence and no longer can go about doing the things that he once had done. The obligation of taking care of a newborn baby will cause loss of sleep and leave you with little time for yourself. This only takes place over a matter of a few months until the child develops a better sleeping pattern. You will soon find that you and your mate can once again go out for an evening of enjoyment. Fathers normally are able to return doing activities with their buddies a lot quicker than mothers who have to bear responsibility of the new child.
Effect of dad's relationship and sex life with his wife.
Wives are not only facing emotional changes but physical and hormonal changes. Dads must have patients with their expectant wives this is a delicate time in their lives. The wives become very moody often crying at the drop of a hat. They fear that they are no longer appealing to their husbands and that you won't want to continue with your sexual life. This is not true husbands and wives can have sex until the final month before the baby is born.
